Personal Profile

Following the studies of mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Science of Kaiserslautern, Ing.(grad) Peter Pirro started as a planning-engineer for air-and heat components at Kraftwerk–Union-AG at Offenbach/Main. After one year of gathering experience in the nuclear power plant industry he went back to the University of Kaiserslautern to study theoretical mechanical engineering and finished his studies with his promotion in the area of finite elements for cracks in nonlinear material. He started his second industry career at John Deere as Finite Element analyst with involvement in the development of combines, forage harvesters and other agricultural equipment. With increasing responsibility he managed the integration of simulation and experimental testing. Being responsible for the development of a new self propelled forage harvester, the key challenge was early simulation and rigorous testing with cost, quality and time in focus. During his time as responsible person for tractor verification & validation, the possibility of "multi physic simulation" including HIL and SIL drove to the effective organisation of simulation and test into the product development process.

His experience gathered during the last 35 years are simulation techniques coupled with testing and the effective organisation of these both components into the development process. The goal to satisfy customers with quality and cost effective products was the driving factor to use the right tools at the right time during the development process.
