Simulating Processes in Combustion Chambers of Boilers

Simulating processes in combustion chambers is a critical point at the design stage, modernization, as well as in boiler unit operation. Computational simulation helps to estimate and improve boiler performance and fuel burn-up efficiency, lower polluting emissions, forecast slagging areas, etc.

Optimal design of Nautilus-based dual-usage turbine

The original aerodynamic design of a non-cavitating marine turbine exhibited performance-degrading cavitation in the hub region at high rotation rate. Using a numerical optimization approach, the cavitation was fully eliminated by updating the local geometry of turbine helical blades.

Multiphysics simulations in MEMS piezo inkjet unit design

The complex physics in inkjet units is investigated with different simulation types at increasing level of complexity. The analyses types vary from static analyses on the actuator, via modal and harmonic analysis up to transient analysis on a complete unit with all involved physics and appropriate two-way couplings in the modeling.
