In order to predict the flush performances of siphonic toilet products before mass production, a numerical simulation for a three-dimensional unsteady multi-phase flow in the flushing process of a wash-down toilet is carried out by using FLUENT software.

Multiphysics simulations in MEMS piezo inkjet unit design

The complex physics in inkjet units is investigated with different simulation types at increasing level of complexity. The analyses types vary from static analyses on the actuator, via modal and harmonic analysis up to transient analysis on a complete unit with all involved physics and appropriate two-way couplings in the modeling. The modeling is used for design optimization, tolerance analysis and gathering increased insight in the inkjet unit behavior.
