Structural Analysis and Fatigue Assessment of a Subsea Mooring Line Connector

Structural Analysis and Fatigue Assessment of a Subsea Mooring Line Connector

First Subsea designed a Mandrel-Receptacle mooring line connector for the Thunder Hawk Regional Development project and required IDAC to perform the following analyses to assess the structural response of the Mandrel-Receptacle assembly and the fatigue responses of the Mandrel and Receptacle in accordance with the DNV standards document.

Automated mechanical strenght proof for railway vehicles

Our customer Matériel Industriel SA MATISA is a pioneer in the industrialization of mechanical railway works, designing, engineering and producing, among others, tamping machines. The load on the landing gear of the tamping machines under standardized according to fracture and fatigue loads can be accurately calculated using the finite element method (FEM). Several load cases and load combinations must however be considered. The evaluation (so-called post- processing) of such simulations , can be very complex and time consuming. Task of this projekt was to process these large amounts of data with an automated process and lead to a standardized and easy to use proof-tool for our customer.
