Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernhard Peters

Bernhard Peters is a full professor at the University of Luxembourg, head of the Thermo-/Fluid Dynamics section and is a co-founder of the Institute of Computational Engineering (ICE) at the University of Luxembourg. He developed the Extended Discrete Element Method (XDEM), that predicts in addition to the dynamic the thermodynamic state of individual particles/grains.

His expertise includes coupling of continuous (CFD&FEM) and discrete (DEM) methods that are employed for multi-physics and multi-scale HPC applications as diverse as pharmaceutical and processing industry, agriculture and its machinery, food industry, mining, construction, metal processing, and energy production.
